JOHN'S VISION FOR A BETTER SCHOOL BOARD

Trust
Trust is the foundation of every strong school system. I will work to rebuild and strengthen trust between the board, educators, families, and students by showing up with integrity, following through on commitments, and listening—deeply and consistently. Trust is earned, and I’m here to earn it every step of the way.
Accountability
We owe it to our students to make sure our policies, budgets, and outcomes reflect what’s best for their growth and learning. I will bring a commitment to responsible decision-making and measurable results, always asking: Is this serving our kids and our community? Leadership must be answerable to the people it serves.
Transparency
Families, students, and staff deserve to know what decisions are being made and why. I’m committed to clear, open communication and creating accessible pathways for the community to engage with the school board. Transparency isn’t just about sharing information—it’s about building a culture of openness where everyone feels informed and included.

MEET JOHN
Dedicated to Improving Education
When transparency, accountability, and trust are at the heart of school leadership, everyone benefits. Transparent communication keeps families informed and involved, leading to stronger partnerships between home and school. Accountability ensures that resources are used wisely and that policies actually support student success, not just good intentions. And when trust is present—between the board, educators, and the community—schools become more collaborative, responsive, and effective. These values aren’t just ideals; they are practical tools for creating schools where every student can thrive.

I’ve seen firsthand what happens when schools aren’t supported—when levies fail and funding falls through. Growing up in this community, I watched families leave the district in search of more stable opportunities, and I knew what it felt like to go without. My own family faced financial hardship, filing for bankruptcy and moving into a small apartment just to make ends meet during my high school years. I missed out on experiences like the 8th grade trip to Washington, D.C., and other field trips that simply weren’t within reach. That perspective shapes everything I do. I understand the weight of limited resources, and I believe our schools can be places where no student has to miss out—where smart funding, community trust, and responsible leadership open doors instead of closing them.
